“Triangles are my favourite shape”

Pattern making is one of the hardest skills to master. In theory it’s easy, something that repeats itself…putting this into practice is a little more tricky.

The grade 3&4s have been making Zentangles in art to apply the practice of pattern making. Check out some of their master pieces!

The big apple.

The city that never sleeps.

The city of dreams.

Empire city.

New York City.

The home to some of the worlds most famous and iconic artists. Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, James Rizzi, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Sol LeWitt.

In term 2, year 3-6 will complete a study on the artists James Rizzi (year 5&6) and Keith Haring (year 3&4) while learning about living in New York City as an artist.

In grade 5&6, students will create their own James Rizzi inspired cityscape using watercolour while the grade 3&4’s will create a series of Keith Haring inspired artworks.

Keep an eye on the blog for work-in-progress.

Until next time…
